I tried therapy a long time ago for anxiety/panic attacks & found it very difficult to explain there was no emotional content at all. Yes, I *look* like I'm terrified, breathing & heart rate elevated, fists clenched &c, but there's no monster there. Not *hidden;* not *there*.

I generally have trouble monitoring my internal state: "Do I have a headache?" "Uh, yes? I guess?" "How long have I had this headache?" "Since this morning? Maybe?" "Am I hungry?" "Uh..."
