Are the past and the future real? Is pragmatism a valid philosophy? What do I think of Alfred North Whitehead's panpsychism? Great questions in the month's AMA, and you can meet my cat Kiara!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4lC...
I did not, I DID NOT miscalculate my work & career,...
Margot Finn'The humanities are vital for distinctly human skills, including judgment, proportion and the ability to approach problems that have no empirical answer. There is no future in which these skills are not vital.' (And yes, both the 'great' university trope and the platform are ick). 1/2

It’s amazing how many city council meetings and town halls have full on embraced fascism with every fiber of their being. They were the first to arrest people, dragging them out long before even the media starting caving to the authoritarianism we’re in .
404 MediaPolice arrested a teacher for clapping during a city council meeting last week. They went to the meeting of Emporia, Kansas City Commission to speak out against a proposed hyperscale data center that would sit on 1,000 acres of rural land. @mjgault.bsky.social reports www.404media.co/person-oppos...

The issue is not whether AI infrastructure should be built. It is whether public systems become stronger because it is built... The real test is simple: after the servers are switched on, is there more power, more capacity, more public value than before? africasacountry.com/2026/07/the-...

This whole 🧵is 🔥. How dare a scholar have an opinion of an adaptation of something they know well! 🙃 (also, Dr. Wilson is very witty!)
EMILY WILSON7. I liked Nolan's low-budget early films - have seen Memento 3 times - but I think the money is a trap. It's easier to suspend disbelief if the actors are less famous. The huge budget leads him to attempt grand jam-packed epics, when he's better at taut, very premise-y small films.
