Stevens primary victory over Andy Levin (backed by AIPAC to take Levin down) was a particularly ugly fight, so the way she’s positioning herself and El Sayed vis à vis Jews and antisemitism is … certainly a choice.

ICK. I’ve not been following this race closely. But the nerve of Stevens to portray herself as Jews’ great champion - after driving Andy Levin (one of the menschiest reps) out of the House! Her post is a big giant NOPE. Gross to attack Muslims & say she’s doing it for (((us))).

It's especially galling that Haley Stevens is portraying herself as the great protector of the Jews in her campaign against a Muslim candidate, given that in 2022 she beat a wonderful Jewish Congressman in a costly primary in part by accusing him of being insufficiently pro-Israel.

Hold up - is she the one who beat Andy Levin? Oh hells no!

UGH!! I'm grateful for the libraries who are emailing me scans remotely. Those are coming beautifully organized and labelled!

That would be amazing - it's taking me a ton of time to organize, though it seems that there are much easier ways than I did it!

Ok, I think I have finished organizing my archival pics from the 2nd archive. I was at the 1st twice as long - but every doc had to stay in the folder for me to take a pic, so hopefully it's all clearer!

I at least have the finding aid now to reconstruct this. And yes, when I created note files (MS Word) I copied over the finding aids. But my pics were on my phone separate from the word docs I created for each file.

(is it a sick burn? or is she trying to be pleasant? I wish I knew if she felt that "cheerful dispatch" and "cuisinary arts" were good things. But I mainly have her formal publications, and her letters to him, to get to know her by!)

I am embarrassed for her, that she still had to float the father of her child because they would "stay FRIENDS" - even if he was a womanizing dick face. And fuck HUAC & all that.

Ok - I made myself finish the file. So much freaking heartbreak in that file. He saved every letter from her & his later widow gave the files to the archive when he died. He's just left her - & she's still supporting him cuz they're both blacklisted, but at least she's earning some $$$ freelancing!
