This is Pumpie the elephant. A handmade plush toy elephant made from grey felt and stuffed with fine wood shavings and pieces of cork, dressed as a ship's officer. It was made by the children of the Cattley family in Ealing (West London) during the early 20th century. Nowadays in the V&A Museum.
