Yep, very much a subjective scale. I think for that reason, the only thing it is really good for is establishing a baseline for an individual, but even then not so great because the individual's idea of what "10" means is likely to be shifting as well, even if they don't realize it.

I hate the pain scale. 10 is supposed to be worst imaginable. What ends up happening when you experience a 10, now it isn't a 10, you can imagine even worse. In this way, my 5 is probably somebody else's 10. Luckily, my blood pressure is a tell, they know my pain is real because my body shows them.

I open sourced the player teleporter system I use in my NUCLEUS II world. There are a bunch of player teleporter systems out there, but personally I needed a system that also supported checkpoints, persistence and a few other things. 🔗 Link in the replies #VRChat

It's definitely one of things you don't have to pay attention to if you don't want to, default sprites certainly do function just fine. I just see it as another place to insert some unique visual style relevant to the world setting or club/group style, etc.

I wonder if offering custom UI sprites on commission would be something that would gain any interest. Maybe I should crack out a few sets that I don't want to keep private, and drop them somewhere to show what I can do/offer a free set somewhere.

I like it. I think it is fun to make my own UI components with aseprite or illustrator. I should honestly probably make more, they're simple design studies really, just have to account for how you'll set it up to resize in unity. I do love the visual parts of designing a world in general though.
