Love Actually is one of the most overrated movies of my lifetime and actively terrible in places but emma thompson saying "nobody's ever going to shag you if you go around feeling sorry for yourself all the time" might be the most important PSA in any film this century
Always another famous artist saying this Bowie’s “never play to the gallery” the most important advice for an artist
VGCShigeru Miyamoto says the games that resonate most with players all around the world aren’t those deliberately designed for global appeal, but those based on a developer’s personal interests. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/miyamot...
Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12
Practical/Quality Reasons - AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate or to work. - Verifying AI output requires human review time. - Verifying AI output requires expertise equal to or greater than that required to generate the output manually. 5/12
This was a fascinating exercise: find out what went wrong with creativity in the games industry. The conclusion: there are too many cowards controlling too many critical levers, and until we figure out how to put people -taste, creativity, and craft- back at the top, we're going to be stuck.

Shout out to the artist at IO who clearly had fun with the lighting here in this otherwise unremarkable corridor that you're in for about three seconds.
Just going to say here, I think I've said this before, a 'historically accurate' version of the Odyssey is not possible because the Odyssey does not take place in a historical setting - it takes place in a fantastical pastiche of four centuries, mixed in with gods and monsters.
Watcher GuruJUST IN: Elon Musk says Grok will make a "full-length movie" of The Odyssey that is "historically accurate" by the end of this year.
Not sure why the IG algorithm has been giving me so much Romeo + Juliet lately but I don’t mind it.
