As a HUGE Polaris fan, I am overjoyed that she's become a cast regular on this season of X-Men '97. Frankly, the show is doing her a lot better than a sizable amount of her publication history. I'm really happy she's not with Alex on the show (the usual writer's lazy default for her).

My parents graduated in ‘76 and ‘77. Making an adjusted price comparison, they absolutely attended college for much less, bought a house for much less, and took nicer vacations than my wife and I can afford now, despite us having a much, much higher (adjusted) income than they did. Broken system.

We do a lot more coupon clipping and buying generic these days. The kids aren't getting any smaller and we still eat at home the vast majority of the time because it's the healthier option, but the margin by which it's cheaper than eating out has narrowed.
