So, Spider-Man BND… Amazing. Quite a lot to process. I have to go see it again as soon as humanly possible. It felt like reading a really great 12-part comic series.

Nickelodeon found a second chance to give a mature independent Cartoonist a show on their channel, and even if Zim wasn't an instant success it ended up a clut classic and one of Nickelodeon's most merchandised shows to this day

Antonucci gave that hit Ed Edd n Eddy became to Cartoon Network after they gave him control over the series that Nickelodeon refused to, and if you look at the timeline, Invader Zim's pilot was produced the same year EEnE came out in January and was pretty much an instant success

On a semi related note I don't think Avatar the Last Airbender Would exist if Nickalodeon got Ed Edd and Eddy because AtlA was ex Invader Zim crew and I think they picked up Zim because they went for the "Johnny the homicidal maniac" guy after they couldn't get the "Lupo the Butcher" guy
