If there was any greater point I wanted to make it was more to say that sports games tend to be under-appreciated in the online circles that I dwell, in. And I'm including myself here too.

That's not really what I meant. The two groups are social media archetypes, not just anyone who prefers one genre over another. I don't think it's that out of order to compare them based on what they say online. That said, I slightly regret laundering in twitter discourse lol, I'll try to be better

The boycott probably hasn't done noteworthy material harm to xbox, but maybe it would have if journalism outlets actually reported about it! I am so disappointed in the news outlets that didn't participate in BDSs boycott of xbox.

Racing games and shooters yeah, not sure about sports games though. Maybe it was just me but my interest in them took a massive dip by the 360 compared to the previous gen when even though I didn't care for IRL sports at all I still had a decent amount of them in the library

Again about the "gun and ball gamer" thing it kinda sucks lol. Once white ppl caught wind of it the term started being used in a racist way. It's so embarrassing seeing someone use it unironically as an insult lmao. I think we could all do with a few more ball video games in our library

I assume this is a twitter thing, if it is then I agree 100%. On bsky trust the average taste is better but I still implore you to play more sports games. It's quite hard though because you have to wade through the license slop but there's a lot of good stuff there

TBH the whole "gun and ball gamer" thing has spiraled out of control from its original context lol. But if we take these two terms superficially... The typical gun and ball gamer probably has better taste in games than the potion and sword gamer.

Probably because they spent ~$80b in studio acquisitions to build a catalogue that they thought would get way more people on to game pass. I'm not surprised that Xbox's targets were much higher because they genuinely thought owning Activision would get a lot more people onto game pass.

It really is a nice place to be in... I'd spend hours running around station square and mystic ruins... ...definitely not because I often couldn't figure out where to go... not at all... But in a way, that's the joy of adventuring, isn't it?

My biggest surprise with FF7 so far though is that it's actually much easier to read than I expected it to be? I really thought the vocab would be a step up from earlier FF games but it turns out it's not really... But there IS a ton more dialogue.
