Yesterday, @asanews.bsky.social announced that, due to cuts in funding from the National Science Foundation, it will no longer run its Dissertation Research Improvement Grants. The consequences of these funding cuts to science and the future research capacity of the US will be staggering.

It is possible to do two things at once; it is possible to make personal decisions that decrease your carbon footprint _and_ that makes you more likely to fight for larger-than-personal policies for carbon withdrawal.
Dana R. Fisher (aka the Apocalyptic Optimist)Important new study out at Nature Climate Action showing that individual climate actions do not stop people from participating in collective climate action. Instead, they were associated with greater collective engagement and somewhat stronger policy support. www.nature.com/articles/s44...

"My intention to run for 4th term as President…’: Trump floats another term during a wholly rambling garbled WHCD speech that suggests someone else should be in charge. Although prob they already are. Apparently, after 60 failed lawsuits, he still believes he's been elected President 3x already.

🚨 The Department of Energy admitted that Russell Vought cancelled hundreds of grants in October 2025 "based solely on the political identity of the grant recipient's state." It is long overdue—Democrats MUST move to impeach Vought, and Blue State Republicans need to answer for their complicity.
FWIW it’s not the size of the mobilization, it’s the duration, the tactics employed, the organizational infrastructure of the participants—which is particularly relevant in a place as geographically diffuse as the US
lorennaclearyPerspective: The US is 28 times larger than Germany in land alone. The population of the US is over 4x larger than that of Germany. The German uprising of 1989 had estimated of up to one million. The smallest No Kings protest in the US had 4-6x that. The largest had close to 10 million. /

This new report by @rebleber.bsky.social and @rebeccajohn.bsky.social for @climateintegrity.org is a MUST READ for everyone to understand the sordid story of the ways the fossil fuel industry greenwashed one the most potent greenhouse gases--methane--and reconstructed it as 'clean' and natural 🤯
Rebecca JohnOur major new investigation is out today packed full of revelations about the oil and gas industry’s decades-long deception over natural gas. We show how big oil and gas created the myth of “clean” natural gas before deceptively marketing it as a climate solution. @climateintegrity.org

Human rights lawyer Wu Shaoping barely escaped arrest in his native China in 2019. The anti-communist Christian convert applied for asylum, made it to Pa. - doing it all the right way But in Trump's wretched America, the gulag is one traffic stop away My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/wu-s...
Get vested interests (especially fossil fuels) OUT of politics. Clear evidence why in this great🧵from @emorwee.bsky.social 👇
Emily AtkinHere's a fun little coincidence I noticed: Every Republican Congressmember loudly blaming Canada's forest management policies for this year's unprecedented wildfires (and ignoring climate change) is a massive recipient of fossil fuel funding. Receipts👇
