I don't think Americans are told how bad it is in Europe right now - Europe is the continent heating up the fastest because of human induced climate change. For example England, yes, the country of eternal rain, is experiencing a drought. Countless places in Europe are literally on fire.

We finally caught up on bills and had enough to buy a side of beef, which is half the price per pound (or better) than precut. We have protein again! Yay! And lots of strawberries and blueberries so imma can some tomorrow yum yum.

Note to self. When rendering down 5 lb of trimmings, use the stock pot, not the usual stew pot, from the start. We're gonna have sooooo much tallow. And I'm making fresh preserves tomorrow. Art is on hold til Tuesday, trimming the beef is a wonderful OCD treat but I destroyed my recovering hand 😅

Lookit! We went to load the groceries up and this Lil Guy was hiding under the lip where the trunk closes. We were super careful not to spook him, but he got antsy and moved. I was worried about closing the trunk back. So... I caught him :3 Bare handed. Took 3 tries but he's in a shaded garden!

By posting this a few times here I've singlehandedly revived a book that was at one point dead due to my ex-publishers collapsing, not paying me for it and taking it out of print. People who read it often love it. People who don't read it sometimes get irritated. The latter is not my concern.
