I have read Gailey’s “Just Like Home” (creeping dread and also some lurch of splatter) and “the Echo Wife” (starts normal and then becomes a crescendo of dread—not much splatter) and loved them both. Highly recommend. I also loved their River of Teeth books! Not horror.
