All good points. They will point to the long term signings of Alonso, Basallo, Bradish, and Baz as reasons to hope, but that’s hard when they sell important pieces around those players for maybes.

I don’t like the Red Sox, but they are the mortal enemies of the Yankees, so on occasion my feelings for Boston are akin to an “enemy of my enemy” situation. But as I said to my distraught son just moments ago, the real enemy is Mike Elias.

Imagine being in a clubhouse that is trying hard to get it together and go on a playoff run, and having the front office decide, “nah, you’re not good enough this year, fellas.” It’s quitting. I don’t want to see Elias quit on this team.

That was a season’s worth of frustration being shouted into the dirt. He needed that, big time.

More likely he knows exactly what data centers are and is just lying to the Fox News base to please the administration’s oligarch pals.
