Yep. My youngest niece (going into 9th grade) hasn’t been diagnosed but my sister is pretty sure she has long covid. I know several others with it, too. It’s not discriminating. All it takes is one careless person to infect others and it puts anyone they come in contact with at risk. It’s down-

This is a reallllly big issue for people with chronic pain. It’s made 10x worse by doctors who tell women that what we are experiencing is because of anxiety, reading too much online or our size. It takes so much effort to be believed that we stop believing/trusting ourselves. It’s rough, man.

It disproportionately affected the elderly (in nursing homes, especially), minorities and disabled people. Unfortunately, too many middle class young or middle aged white people whose parents or families weren’t directly impacted will continue to view it as an “other” problem & place blame …

Do white people ever think, "I wonder what it would be like if every book I read or TV or film only had Black people in them?" Just constantly inundated with images of Black people, in our vastness. Probably not, but, I dare say, it would change how they view everything. Representation matters.

It’s important for white people to own up to how staggeringly *ugly* our history has been and how *angry* Black people are about it but we refuse to do either. Endless tiptoeing or gaslighting or outright hostility at any mention. But truth is truth and we *need* to reconcile with all this 🫤
