I am historically kind of cynical about Christopher Nolan and his filmography, so believe me when I say I found The Odyssey to be absolutely beautiful. Just a stunning piece of collaborative artwork.

That's a good point, and kind of the opposite side of that coin is if you are already attached to a series and the one new entry in 8-10 years isn't good for you, now you're like "cool, another decade until we try again".
