Wishing a happy 54th birthday to the superbly cool @wilwheaton.net, whose awesomeness as the Traveler incarnation of Wesley Crusher was explored in the Trek novels long before he became a legit superhero in Star Trek: Prodigy! As a collective gift to Wil, let’s all do our best today to not be dicks.

Here’s wishing a very happy 73rd birthday to the great Geddy Lee of Canadian prog-rock legend RUSH! I took this photo of Geddy last night (Tue 28 July 2026) during the band’s first of four nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City for their “Fifty-something” Tour.

Waiting in line for early VIP entry to the first RUSH show at MSG. Sweating my ass off here. Should have worn shorts. But I’ve already snagged an MSG-exclusive concert shirt, which was all I really cared about. Everything after this is just bonus.

I try not to give in to the negative voices in my head, but every day it seems as if the universe is sending me another sign that it wants me to throw away my novel-in-progress and enroll in bartending school.

Holy Cow — we did it! Nicholas Meyer, Kirsten Beyer, and I have won the Scribe Award for Best Audio Drama, for our nine-episode epic STAR TREK: KHAN!

Congratulations, Adam Cesare, on your Scribe Award for Best Adapted Novel — THE TOXIC AVENGER. Great work!
