Right, but Fire-Ignition-Day VPD for instance is increasing linearly: my question is if there’s a value for VPDf after which fire are much more likely (and if we’ve reached that) or if the VPD changes have been much larger since 2023?

I’m genuinely curious tho, considering that the fire incidence and smoke seems to be a step function since 2023, tho I can’t find much in the literature suggesting a reason for this. Is there an actual threshold, just casual or a contribution from changes in management?

Different disciplines have different norms and expectations. Considering this is the Scholar page of someone going to lead a Federal effort around climate, you’d expect this someone to be a leading scholar in climate science, while the guy just hasn’t published much, and pretty unremarkable/junk.
