And finally, 3 Shining Motes is Daniel's 1-page game about three settlements on the brink of extinction. Over the course of the game you'll see these places face a barrage of natural disasters, and you win if even one remains at the end.

Luka's A Heart Starts beating is a miserable little pile of secrets. Luka describes it as a "toxic yuri bury your gays haunted house game … an attempt to make a ttrpg "walking sim"." A deeply affecting experience with gorgeous layout to boot.

A Witch's Pilgrimage is my latest game. Play as a witch preparing for a ritual to bring your familiar back to life. Roll dice on a sheet of paper to create a map of the world, then travel between the points collecting ingredients at each one.

I just don't think it's accurate to reduce John Wick, K-Pop Demon Hunters, RRR, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Naruto and Superman (and all of the genres they're a part of) down to "doom clones". Plenty of those involve fighting non-fleshed out grunts too!

I have a blog post brewing about action fantasy RPGs since my last two campaigns have been Godkiller and Draw Steel back to back. But for now I'll say that action is a genre of fiction outside of games and just because it's done poorly in more popular RPGs doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried at all.
