I have an Evo tattoo on my arm (pre-aquisition), it's my favourite event in the world and is staffed by wonderful people. I'm still able to write about it in a fashion that isn't one dimensional, and believe it's important to do stuff like that. If I didn't I'd go work in a bank or something!

And hey look, it's possible you work at a company that has a hard line against one or more of these topics. I promise you there's a subject you can write about that's meaningful and that needs doing. So give it a go.

It's a horrid time for the games industry, and a horrid time for the games media, but that doesn't mean there aren't important stories to write about. In fact, there are *many* that need doing. So start by picking at least one (BDS is a good one).

If you're on *none* of those, if you just write about toys and fancy shiny new cosmetics for stuff, then it's not to late to sit down and think about why that is.

In my opinion, you've got to have at least one meaningful beat to be respectable. I take every opportunity to write about the Saudi Arabian topic, but you can choose BDS, gambling being pushed on kids, anything at all. You should be on at least one of those.

Yeah I have friends who are really dedicated gamers, who only play World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and like maybe a fun indie here and there. That's it!
