Talarico being above 50% is significant. That means Paxton needs to not just convince undecided voters to vote for him, he needs to change the minds of people currently planning to vote for Talarico. That's a much tougher row

Folks... this is a reputable pollster.. And the gov race!?! With "extremely interested" voters it's 53 Talarico - 47 Paxton. GOV: Abbott 50 - Hinajosa 49 !!!! Article claims "extremely motivated" there... 53 Hinajosa - 47 Abbott. Yeah uh what??? www.foxnews.com/politics/fox...

This is the guy who runs an ad featuring a woman who says, "I'm a Democrat and I'm voting for Mike Minogue." Turns out she's his neighbor and works (worked?) for one of his companies.

Michael Minogue campaigned on understanding the housing crisis. He also owns a $31m home in an ultra-exclusive Montana club. - The Boston GlobeMichael Minogue, who's running for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, built a home in the Yellowstone Club that, records show, has a market value of $31 million.www.bostonglobe.com

i've got a good piece on this www.gelliottmorris.com/p/meet-ameri...

Meet America’s new swing voter: The anti-system voter. (Or: Why Democrats should think through nominating AOC in 2028)A new paper finds anti-system sentiment — not left-right ideology — decided the 2016 and 2024 electionswww.gelliottmorris.comJosh Marshall

Among many other things this is a good illustration of the necessity of untethering ideology and "fight" in intra-Democratic battles. The party is very united on fight, very divided on ideology. You unite on fight, let different constituencies/states find their center of gravity on ideology.
