From my perspective this is exactly what you'd want to see - available range of teaching practices, hopefully with some cross pollination, within the public system and accessible to the whole community. The trick is making this model work everywhere not removing it entirely

Fwiw in this case i believe it was a montessori teaching stream in the public school, but more broadly i agree that all private schools should be closed and that money should be redirected into properly supporting state schooling for all
