This is a fundamental misunderstanding of what a conflict of interest is -- it's far broader than this. But this financial interest is clearly a conflict of interest:

Dean Buckley

just a reminder the cathaoirleach of the AI committee has stock in a AI-based revenue intelligence company. Naoise insists the stock – whose value is only realisable if the company goes public – is not a conflict of interest for him as a TD forming AI legislation www.ontheditch.com/fianna-fail-...

That's me in the early 2010s when Musk was talking rubbish about traffic and tunnels, undermining high-speed rail with Gadgetbahns like the Hyperloop and local transit with The Boring Company's Loops (cars in tunnels with flashing lights). Nazi sulutes were not enough for others to abandon him.

I was given a Fitbit and recently enough Google went crazy on AI summaries. I think it used to better detect the difference between walking and cycling and it seems to be hallucinating about the length of activity.

Maybe an even bigger conspiracy is how State-owned tram systems were mothballed without GM or anybody else having to expose themselves like this:

David Ho

Is everyone aware of the General Motors streetcar conspiracy? In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.

The £325 (£500 after 14 days) is ridiculously high, but let's be clear: Dropping something beside a full bin, even into a bag already littered there is littering: I was fined £500 after putting a coffee cup in a rubbish bag next to a full bin www.theguardian.com/money/2026/a...

Ceuta isn’t in mainland Spain. Is on Morocco’s coast. Under Spanish control since 1500 Is one of 2 Spanish cities that form the European Union’s only land borders with Africa, While Ceuta is part of the EU, it operates under special rules that restrict people from entering Spain and the rest of EU.

It's totally spin. But why? Just so they can still try to maintain it wasn't just a bailout? The government is selling the PTSB bailout as a victory for taxpayers - here's why that's spin jrnl.ie/7119007

That's a bus. It's an artist's impression of Brisbane Metro, a busway project.

Ah, the old "it has em dashes so must be AI" thing... they're not something most people use, but journalists have been using em dashes extensively way before AI. I'm not changing my writing style because some people think only AI uses em dashes...

So I woke up this morning to find out that Ozzy Osbourne’s son made a video falsely accusing me of using AI to write a Rolling Stone article about the Tate brothers.

Greenways should be built in a way that limits environmental impacts, but I'm finding it strange how some keep being hyper focused on the impact of greenways but never seem to mention motorways/large roads -- the M28 is just the current example of how such rip through land: youtu.be/aU-2_kr7mnM?...

From his cycling hatemongering, I always knew George Hook was a gobshite but ranting about standing at a bus stop and seeing people who "don't look like you" is maybe a low from him. I say maybe as it's been a while since he was presenting on any mainstream show and god knows what he's been saying.

This is bs and will hurt far more than fast fashion or goods coming from China -- if Trump did this the EU would be crying but because the messaging was targeted as China and younger people bring wasteful, there was some very weird media coverage on it:

Liz Bourke

The new EU customs regime on small parcels in Ireland is very expensive. It is €3 per small parcel with a "handling fee" of €6.95. You'd think you could batch the parcels when you are paying the customs fee and only pay the handling fee once, but no. Handling fee is PER PARCEL, not per transaction.
