This is bs and will hurt far more than fast fashion or goods coming from China -- if Trump did this the EU would be crying but because the messaging was targeted as China and younger people bring wasteful, there was some very weird media coverage on it:

The new EU customs regime on small parcels in Ireland is very expensive. It is €3 per small parcel with a "handling fee" of €6.95. You'd think you could batch the parcels when you are paying the customs fee and only pay the handling fee once, but no. Handling fee is PER PARCEL, not per transaction.

Personally, I don’t see an issue as they were undercutting local jobs, retail and producers who were paying duties and tax on imports. Focus should be getting the UK into an agreement so it doesn’t apply to them. Reputable companies should be able to charge the fees at payment point.

Hobbyists who source a bunch of stuff from the UK and otherwise outside the EU are going to be hit pretty hard. (And in many cases, the less commercial your hobby, the harder the hit.)

(Because popular stuff has big retailers who can do customs handling, or who have Irish outlets, but the more niche stuff really doesn't.)
