I think it's just nerves and maybe a bit of spectrum rather than anything chemical. I get the impression that she just doesn't like public speaking and is masking.

I know I'm at my best when I'm working behind the scenes to assist someone else in the spotlight. I can take the proverbial center stage when I need to but I accomplish so much more when I'm in the background. I wish more people tried to learn their own strengths and weaknesses.

And that's totally valid! But it also makes me wonder if it's the right job for her. Setting aside policy, the dark money, all of that... If she wants to pursue politics in a way that will be effectual, maybe a background support role is more her speed.

I'm grasping at straws to understand why she is acting the way she is and why she's going balls to the wall with how weird she's being. I'm sure there are people in her ear telling her how great she's doing but I don't even feel good about making fun of her at this point.

To be clear, I'm not saying this as a way to make light of it because it's a serious problem that isn't a reflection of a person's character. But is it possible that substance abuse is contributing to Haley Stevens getting increasingly weirder? This is wild even for dem consultant standards.
