I was so glad that the link didn't function anymore by the time I clicked it - I'm crossing my fingers in hope that the site is already down. TBC, I did not give permission for them to reprint ANY of my stories that had been published at DSF.

@michaelcapobianco.bsky.social tagging you for writer beware. I just found a BUNCH of my stories on here. They also say get in contact to get stuff down - but no contact method provided.

I was bummed out when Daily Science Fiction folded and their site went offline. Now someone has pirated all their old content, and is pushing it as their own. None of the writers granted permission, and none of us are being paid.

ANYWAY. Daily Science Fiction published between 44 to 47 of my short stories. As far as I can tell, Science Fiction Weekly hasn't published ALL of them yet, but they have published MOST of them without my permission.

Even their name—Science Fiction Weekly—is unoriginal, the same name as the Sci-Fi Channel magazine edited back in the day by @scottedelman.bsky.social. (Even more aggravating, they've reprinted some of Scott's own DSF stories, and they're the first result when you Google their and his name.

That made me laugh. Thank you.

Yeah, they don't accept AI stories, they just steal the old fashioned way.

Christ, what next? 13 of my 14 DSF stories are in there and I did not give consent for a single one (nor do I see any contact info where I could tell them to remove it).

My two Daily Science Fiction stories have been stolen by sciencefictionweekly.com. Their claim to be republishing stories with author consent is an outright lie.

They apparently force people to make an account.

What offends me even more than the theft of my stories is that they STOLE THE STORIES OF A DEAD FRIEND. Probably several dead friends. Melissa Mead, you're gone but we remember you, and we will fight for you.

YEAH they even got me and I had all of one story in 2022. I was not aware of this website's existence until today. what's disgusting is they are claiming to have author permissions...one of the authors whose content they have stolen died several years ago. PRETTY SURE THAT MEANS NO PERMISSION.

Note that searching by name does not work. Search for a title or by keyword, and then you can click on the author name to find the whole list.

Hey! If you were published at Daily Science Fiction, be aware that a site called Science Fiction Weekly has stolen the entire story database & posted it on their site. All of my DSF stories are there without my permission. sciencefictionweekly.com
