I’m wondering if it was the clothing company. Not only are they wearing shirts from it, their sign has the socials .

Bad: Millennium Park Bike Station, Chicago's only public indoor bike parking facility, became police-only post-COVID. chi.streetsblog.org/2023/03/24/c... Awful: Its plaza is now locked, and the *outdoor* parking (I designed) is gone! There wasn't neatly enough bike parking last night. - JG

“We found that children who had a history of atopy, a group of allergic conditions like seasonal allergies, asthma or eczema, were more prone to develop Long COVID,” No one thinks of "people with seasonal allergies" as "The Vulnerable". YOU may be the vulnerable.

Solidarity with heritage sector colleagues across the V&A 💪
Prospect UnionOur members working in collections access at V&A have voted unanimously for strike action because they don't have time for toilet breaks or to drink water. All V&A members have separately also voted to strike over pay and conditions. Read more in the Guardian: www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...

Outrun felt like a meteor strike when it came out. Its legacy may be buried under a mountain of derivative copycats, but before all that—back when it first hit—the actual record he made and the character he created was all Kavinsky doing his own thing, as hard as possible. Nearly wore out the LP.
Liam WongRIP Kavinsky… thank you for the inspiration 💔

We already do this and companies who want them are happy to pay for PhD student interns. Why do precious and limited NSF funds need to be deployed for this? Most PhD student pursue industry jobs anyways - that has always been true. Use NSF funds to support basic science that industry wont support!
Jonathan WosenWith academic jobs few and far between, the NSF is testing a new approach to graduate education: Giving Ph.D. students industry experience — and dollars — as part of their training. For more, see my latest for @statnews.com. www.statnews.com/2026/07/29/h...

ok so i think we have to be talking about a primate-derived merperson here —a person of mer, as it were— as opposed to a meeple: arising from some aquatic anecestor, like a fish, or a sea monkey; because they have the opposite problem exploding near the surface, and in salt-freshwater transitions)
Luke SteuberI was thinking today about how if a mermaid sat on the beach her butt would probably fall asleep, and then I was like but wait what is their blood pressure like But if your legs fall asleep as a human you could trip and hurt yourself but as a merperson you’d just sink therefore At what depth -

Still thinking about genderfluid avocados
Jeff GrohAvocados come in 2 varieties - A-types start each day female and switch to male midday. B-types do the reverse. In work just published from the last chapter of my PhD, we show this system evolved 40+million yrs ago and is regulated by alleles of 1 transcription factor www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...
