A The Trojan Women adaptation would make the Handmaid's Tale seem like tame YA by comparison, and would probably veer into an almost voyeuristic portrayal of war victims' (mostly women's) suffering. I'm not sure if that's something the culture wants or could digest.

Caveat that EW knows more than me in every way about this subject, but I figure if you want a story told from the perspective of O's victims, you can either go with the myriad revisionist stories from the perspective of the women he came across (Circe, Calypso, Helen) or just adapt The Trojan Women.

Disclosure Day was all air. People, things, and events seemed untethered to anything but the underlying thesis of the movie. The Odyssey is heavy, solid, material. The harm happened. Excellent articulation of why I found Disclosure Day both trite and frustrating. It demanded a kind of reverence in the awesome power of divine and trans-terrestrial empathy, while showing very little it on-screen. The Odyssey shows you the hell we've made, and our inability to fix it anytime soon.
