Not clear how this will work in practice given the average time for an asylum appeal to be disposed of in the first three months of the year was 67 weeks. Presumably it only applies to new appeals - so do the others go to the back of the queue?

I was about to ask you that question! I think you are right. To show that a new law is working, they would have to prioritise new appeals.
