I like how the whole "Mystique abandons Kurt" plot could have been done lovingly like Moses among the reeds but no, she just looks vaguely disgusted and hurls him down a waterfall.
why do x-men writers love having mystique abandon children so much? Like how many has it been now? rogue, kurt, creed, wanda, pietro, that's 5 that I know of and I'm not even digging.
I tend to imagine a lot of it is being like 200+ years old. She's got so much trauma and baggage, and knows she's going to outlive all of them, anyway, so it's better to push people away on her own terms than to get hurt. If Irene Adler couldn't tell the future, she wouldn't trust her, either.
from what I remember kurt was born to a nobleman in a german country and it looked like late 19century so yay for Marvel fucking up depcitions of modern day europe
It’s been changed. First Mystique was married to the nobleman. Cheated on him with and impregnated by the mutant Azazel. A few years ago it was changed to Mystique fell in love with a different female mutant, as a man got said mutant pregnant. Still end result of abandoning Nightcrawler.
I know that but we are speaking of the show, not the comics continuity. These are separate (I do like the idea of Mistique being a father tho even though in story it's not as fun).
