Infantino trying to sell the World Cup and install himself as its commissioner is maybe the quickest "everyone disliked that" I've ever seen in sports. Literally no one involved into the idea besides the people whose money he was trying to get a piece of.

The only recent rival I can think of is the dead-on-arrival "Super League" idea. Why are these ultra-boneheaded ideas always coming out of soccer?

“Do you want this ghoul running the World Cup from behind the scenes?” is a question that answers itself.

Its impressive because even the super league didn't have this much of a reaction this fast
