I can’t speak for the impact on whales, but I live under a wind farm, and they are noisy. Even when they aren’t turning they hum like there’s a cooling fan inside. Also get the strobe effect in the house twice a year. 100% for wind farms I just wish I didn’t live under one.

Thanks for answering. I'd venture they may be too noisy to be in the ocean. It seems like everything we do hurts the habitat. I've read that warm currents &, noise is hurting Blue whales ability to catch krill. No wonder they attack ships.

I live in a red state and farm community so they do what they want. I’m not sure what the rules are for them. I had to give up being mad about it because that’s not healthy. I think wind farms are a good thing, but I don’t recommend living by them.

There is no evidence that wind turbines hurt marine life more than the hundreds of ships sailing around. Going from fossil fuels to renewable will eliminate 60% of the cargo transportation via the sea.

Windmills off the RI coast, when we go to the beach they're barely noticeable.. the haze/fog/smoke from Canadian fires make them shadows at best. Trump's issue with them is not about their presence, but more about keeping the fossil fuel folks happy so $$ can keep flowing to his deep pockets.

They are minimalists, recycle, ride bicycles and walk, use excellent public transportation nurture green spaces and bees

I have relatives who are. Bigoted, homophobic (one has a gay child), etc. We wish each other well on holidays but that's as far as it goes. They didn't grow up Catholic. I think it was the church that turned them. So many people are taught hate from the pulpit.

I was an election worker in TX for 12+ yrs. I noticed some life long Dem Latinas were disillusioned during Obama administration, ‘cause of LGBTQ rights and choice. I think there was a shift starting @paoramos.bsky.social has done a lot of research on the US Hispanic electorate recently. Check it.

They are wind farms, and yes they are industrial. The wind industry is working hard to limit the special minerals needed for a turbine. The planet does benefit from less co2 and less coal pollution. Any industry requires resources, but not many industries try to be more sustainable.

We can disagree on the last part of your post. People have been misled about "clean green" energy. If we did our own mining, destroyed our own land, used our own water, forced our children into brutal labour, it would be more honest. We keep exploiting poorer countries. That's my issue.

Wind turbines are expensive to build, they’re not recyclable, and provide intermittent power. Whereas nuclear power provides baseload supply for decades. And the risk is quite low with fourth generation systems.
