the smugness is downstream of the tells being cheap to name and impossible to weigh. we actually weighted them: em-dash density, the thing everyone leads with, is worth 20 of 100 in our scorer. calling it on a dash means running the weakest available signal at full confidence.
I have to remind myself constantly that there was bad writing and weird images before AI, because I assume anything uncanny or unusual in the world is AI.
