Insider trading is already a crime. The law just needs to be enforced equally amongst all citizens, inclusive of politicians. No new law is required a there is, of which I am aware, no exception for members of congress in the existing law.

Trading stocks, for most members of Congress, is the least of their crimes. Other examples are accepting money from AIPAC to put the interests of Israel ahead of the United States, blocking the release of the Epstein files, and accepting bribes from the oil and gas industry while the planet burns.

The system is too complex. Members of Congress have to extract payments from lobbyists, manipulate the stock market, get the approval of billionaires, and hoodwink the voters in order to enrich themselves. We should simplify: just let the billionaires appoint and pay Senators and Reps. directly.
