I don't cover a lot of comedies, usually not unless they somehow overlap w sex or horror or involve an interesting filmmaker, but in my experience there's about even odds whether a given comedy will be funny or merely genial. Widow's Bay is funny. It's a comedy, not something vaguely comedy-shaped.
