Better blackouts than blackened. Nine months after a blackout, you get a small baby boom. Nine months after a blackening, you're still dead.

Such regressive “thinking” is characteristic of mentally limited people who can only think of “the future” as far as, say, next Thursday.

I've been told The Times still has editorial independence. I don't think it does. I was under the impression that Murdoch was only allowed to buy it, with that guarantee, and Johnson quietly scrapped it. I'm prepared to be wrong, but this seems stark evidence to the contrary.
