this is a good savvy question. i'm back pocketing this question

More Perfect Union

In a hearing where residents grilled officials on data centers, a resident of Tyrone Township, Michigan, asked a simple question: Have you signed an NDA with any party regarding developments that could affect the town? The majority of the township's officials refused to answer.

I've been to council meetings in multiple towns re: data centers and this comes up in every single one. I'd say maybe half the time there's someone with an NDA

Oh so good! It seems some of the dudes are like, "when did we let ladies cross examine us!?"

This is deeply dark shit.

I did find it funny the first two guys very probably lied when they answered "no" and I wonder how they felt holding the bag when the third person wised up enough to refuse to directly address the question.

either they were lying when they said no or they were telling the truth and now have to wonder what cool deals they missed out on lol

call me crazy but i don’t think politicians should be able to sign ndas with private corporations

In the security world, they call this sort of thing a "canary".

I pray the data centers do not turn to Grand Haven

You know that person files killer public records requests.

this happened in my city. the councilors had all signed an NDA with what turned out to be google. truly sinister shit

when councilors sign NDAs people should just NGAFuck-a about their well being

"your refusal to answer has been noted and we may now assume whatever we want"
