Technological progress is great but as a species we basically can already do whatever we want, within reason. The issue is political and emotional. We have the tech and power to end world hunger: we lack the will as a species to actually enact it. Our progress will come from spiritual development.

It's just a reminder that we all die. Death is unpredictable. Live with compassion and love. His death is simply room for new growth and change. The only thing we have for certain is the impermanence of all things. May we all aspire to act with wisdom, mindfulness, and compassion.
