I have a personal belief that the more a person is a nerd for something: dinosaurs, The Odyssey, etc, the less likely they are to enjoy a popular entertainment version of that thing.

an observation from my hike today: having trekking poles is a good idea in FL, not necessarily because the terrain demands them, but because you'll want something to swipe the golden orb weaver webs out of your way seriously, it feels like they're doing the Far Side thing but with hiking trails
