The U.S. is now de facto refusing passports to trans people on the basis that their sex at birth cannot be proven. This is a de facto exit ban, enacted not by law or judicial process, but by tyranny and arbitrary measures.

Alberta just introduced Bill 9, which exists for one and only one purpose: deleting the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as it pertains to trans kids, denying them the right to life and stripping their healthcare away. This is cruel, anti-democratic and anti-constitutional.

I have a strong feeling that the Canadian federal government will fall in 2026, if there aren't sufficient Cons defections. The feeling I have is that the NDP will lose all legitimacy if it abstains again next year.
