Aaaand there has come soft rain! Nice work RB, you did it

Fitting to spend today hoping for rain. Truly one of the great short stories (any genre). And from today's point of view it's striking how Bradbury really nailed the chirruping inanity of the automated systems.

One curious thing about becoming houseplant people (as we have since ~2022 or so) is you starting noticing and identifying plants in other locations; this is weirdly disorienting when that "other location" is recordings of the past. It feels like an anachronism. Hard to express.
