Oh, there was a 60-something guy wrapping his PhD in History when I was wrapping up my stuff. 🙂

There is *a lot* of academic research in those areas. I tangentially know a guy who’s well published on the cultural studies side (he led a friend’s committee). It’s a solid & growing area in academia.

Oh, I know. 🙂 A friend likes to tell people that I got my PhD in Werewolves, so that became my social media handle. And it always gets: a doctor for werewolves, a werewolf who is a doctor, something else? (But, he also called me when his kid didn’t believe he knew a werewolf expert.)

I am a real doctor … just, er, not that kind 🐺😂

Many years ago, I was a poor doctoral candidate in need of a dissertation topic that needed to cover medieval/early modern & fantasy literature. It was a toss up between werewolves & worldbuilding. As it happened, weres won & teratology* was waxing in academic interest again, so it worked out.

All of that depends on which tradition(s) we’re talking about. And most of those are post-18th century horror, further disseminated by Hollywood. 🙂

Does it really, actually, matter? They willingly & deliberately used the plagiarism machine by choice. They admitted to it. Done. (And it follows that if they did here, they did elsewhere too.)

Based on your statement, and those above you, it was not clear that you had done any “research” As to the rest, the OP obviously has issues with the panel/show’s stated use of LLMs in producing their presentation (and, likely, project). (I know reading & interpreting words is hard, but not really.)
