As always, new devs get it in the shorts twice with these things: not only are companies laying off (meaning they don't have openings for new devs), the jobs that ARE available are going to be snapped up by the people getting laid off, meaning we're essentially reaching a point of zero new blood.

The costs that are cut will continue to be human ones, and it is up to us as workers to demand a stop to this practice, no matter the industry. Short-sighted cuts of valuable employees to support initiatives like these provide momentary stakeholder value at the cost of destroying livelihoods.
This could be your workplace next! Don't let these ghouls cut your livelihood for their gain. Organize before it's too late!
