Mattthe options for US immigration are basically: 1) have immediate family here (still can take years) 2) marriage (see 1) 3) have consistent H1b sponsorship in a professional job for years 4) win the lottery (paused) 5) be a refugee/asylum seeker (paused, unless you’re a white south african farmer)

Scott SantensI just read Sapolsky's book Determined and it kind of blew my mind. There's a biological argument for unconditional basic income to be made based on how our decisions depend on factors beyond our control. If free will is an illusion, then we should make sure to end poverty and reduce chronic stress.
