There's a category of UK accents where the ash /æ/ is more of a schwa /ə/ or open ah /ɑ/ sound, and this makes the pronunciation of "battle" sound like how other accents pronounce "butthole". This makes hearing phrases like "marching into battles", "loud battle sounds", etc, very amusing to me 😁

It's also incredibly uninformative. E.g. Was it a linter or security audit tool with a language model? Was it predictive autocomplete? Was it prompt-based slop generation? Was it autogenerated unit tests for module specification checks? Vague and tells us nothing!

Like my parents dealt with technology changing & economic downturn in their 40s but I recall them just being moderately worried about how to adapt + manage it all, not feeling bleak about their entire lives.
