The practical effects are really impressive for sure!

I’d definitely go and see it in the cinema if it was re-screened. It’s a lot of fun

Haha yup, it’s a sandwich made with very thinly sliced bread 😅 The dialogue was honestly awful, so much exposition and yet they still managed to not tell half the story. And I didn’t like mythical designs either, the cyclops felt insulting to people with facial differences to me

Just watched Masters of the Universe. Better costumes, fight scenes where you can see the action, homoeroticism (though there could’ve been more)

Yup! It’s pretty dismal

Yes! Like it’s a new thing that echoes the odyssey. Which Nolan’s film basically was, it just positions itself as a direct adaptation :/

It’s implied that he has PTSD and is forgetting things as a coping mechanism, and that the mythological stuff he encounters is potentially his mind coping with war… which could’ve been cool if perhaps it was historically grounded, but it’s not. So neither mythology and cool, nor historic and edgy 🙄

I really missed the nobody scene :(

Yup! Turning her into an Americanised wicked witch in a hovel, instead of a goddess of magic surrounded by nymphs was already awful. And then they change her character into a bitter spinster trope :(
