It’s implied that he has PTSD and is forgetting things as a coping mechanism, and that the mythological stuff he encounters is potentially his mind coping with war… which could’ve been cool if perhaps it was historically grounded, but it’s not. So neither mythology and cool, nor historic and edgy 🙄
