#Books, #cats, #food, #gardening. Almost any meal can be improved by the addition of capers or hot sauce. Mostly spend my time waving a fist at the sky.

So Wagamama have removed all the salad options and almost all the tofu from their menu. The bang bang cauliflower remains but it’s not going to be enough to get me back through the doors. Feels like a real downgrade. If I’m in town I’ll go to Pho, if I’m out of town it’s now no better than Nando’s.

The Weather is so much better tonight than it has been for the past couple of nights and yet the overnight temperature forecasts are barely changed. And no Met Office weather warnings this week even though it has been worse than the red alert period. I suspect I’m becoming a Weather Truther …

Just written to my (Labour) MP about the government’s disgusting immigration rhetoric and policies. Again. Last time it produced 500 words of generic waffle clearly concocted by a spin doctor for mass reproduction so I’m not expecting much in reply.

As I posted quite a long time ago …

By my count there have been at least three opportunities for Labour to properly blame Hunt for unaffordable tax cuts and reverse the decision in the interest of national and energy security: when they found the fiscal black hole; when Trump started threatening NATO; and when the Iran war started.

Once again, we are ‘discussing’ far right talking points on a subject that is only of benefit to the far right. P L A Y E D Again. When will people (the media and politicians) wise up to this?!

What the actual ever living fuck is this

*logs on* So what stupid crap is the British political and media establishment talking about today, instead of tackling any one of the many vast problems the country faces? Ah, DBS checks for MPs. Righteo. *logs off*

This is really not difficult. Streeting mentioned the EU because he knew it would put Burnham in a tricky position with his Brexity local electorate. This is not some great principled national moment of truth telling, it is pure cynical opportunism and factional politicking of the worst kind.

Literally all of these could have been Day 1 announcements btw. Total waste of two years and multiple crisis moments (never waste a crisis). I see no evidence that any of the prospective successors to Starmer have anything like a plan so what would change? Changing leader is pointless.

- drop the srupid tax pledges (blame Trump and Russia) - National Care Service (takes financial burden off councils) - fund HMRC properly and performance manage it (bounties a good idea) - change immigration statistics to exclude foreign students / be fit for 21stC patterns of movement

Can we start compiling a list of every policy you'd like to see a new Labour leader make? Big or small, what would actually start to make the country feel better for people?
