The reason they shut down was because: 1. sales were down because shrinkage was high 2. but they pushed cost down by reducing the number of floor employees.. which pushed shrinkage up. They wanted both high sales and low costs. If they can't have both then they wanted neither. It was a footgun.

Let me repeat myself: CVS and Walgreens are convenience stores flavored as pharmacies instead of gas stations. Expect convenience store prices and service (or corresponding lack-thereof).

And the reporter wasn't even focused on the supposed 'constituent'. So that further weakens the argument. My assumption is the congressman resorted to violence as a kneejerk response to being caught in public discussing something he shouldn't have been saying at all.

On point 2 - I agree with that being true in principle, but I do believe the general public overwhelmingly dislikes people filming them while in public without prior consent. Not really defending the situation here. The congressman was very much in the wrong. His claim for privacy was a sham.
