I've been digging in to the Packalen and Bhattacharya paper on "edge science". They seem to have run the analysis on 1 million articles but the dataset has 6.2 million. There may be a good reason for this, but I can't find it in the paper, so have asked on PubPeer. pubpeer.com/publications...

For years the anti-vaccine organization Children's Health Defense has told parents not to vaccinate. Now parents of unvaccinated children want to know why their kids are so sick. So CHD is going to make up some more lies this morning on their show.
Now I can’t tell if it’s cyclospora or Pete that’s giving me the shits #QuackMcCullough
Further analysis of Packalen & Bhattacharya article, where they claimed #NIH-funded research was slow to pick up on new ideas. I argue that their approach is flawed, and I present an analysis that shows the exact opposite. pubpeer.com/publications...

Does the (live) shingles vaccine protect against dementia? Fergus Hamilton and colleagues provide important evidence in a new preprint using hospital data from the whole of England in a regression discontinuity design from which we *don't* show evidence of a meaningful protective effect /cont

I'm having a hard time understanding why this (well-argued) statement in paragraph three of your article wouldn't apply to the kind of research you're describing (finding valuable links to inform the argument of your article) as well as scientific research!
