Another long-awaited retraction for Eliezer Masliah. 🎩 @elisabethbik.bsky.social www.science.org/content/arti... pubpeer.com/publications...
It took only 3 months for Spandidos journal MMR to retract this paper. Kudos. 😸 pubpeer.com/publications...
Congratulations to Anna (@abalkina.bsky.social)! www.fu-berlin.de/presse/infor...
AI making us dumber: A paper with explicit limitations transformed into an AI summary claiming parents' phone use has "long-lasting developmental and psychological effects." That's not what the study found. Correlation mutated into causation. @Ali_Lev bit.ly/3TcSiXN
Took almost 5 years for the @CellCellPress journal to retract this paper. 😐 pubpeer.com/publications... 🎩 Hoya
I am definitely not sharing an image of Prof Florian Bentzinger in the next post.
Leonid SchneiderProf Florian Bentzinger sent us "Formal Request to Remove Unauthorized Use of My Photograph", to be "replaced with an alternative image that does not depict me." @sholtodavid.bsky.social & I complied and used a cartoon of a generic scientist instead. forbetterscience.com/2026/07/21/d...
Is Dr. who? making stuff up again? I suspect LLM hallucinated references. pubpeer.com/publications...
It looks like he did this for 7 links, not all. That may support his explanation that ChatGPT was only used for some purposes in writing this article.
Valentin RodionovScreenshotted for the record, in case it vanishes. The Editor-in-Chief of Science, explaining how the citations in his latest piece were checked. Short thread. 🧵
“[@SpringerNature’s] Whitehead also says that, like many other publishers, she and her colleagues work closely with external sleuths who draw attention to problematic papers. “We find the work they do really valuable,” she says.” Via @retractionwatch.com’s Weekend Reads bit.ly/3T3p8KB
Why not say @holdenthorp.bsky.social up front? Perhaps subtly suggesting it was written by an LLM? 😸🙀
Emily M. BenderThis article ends with a good conclusion, but it is extremely misguided along the way. It is also a rich text for exploring how clear language helps make the point better. A thread: www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... >>
Südhof will be joining El-Deiry and Sabine Hazan at this event. 😹

Those are ex vivo studies, as the article notes: “Since the early 2000s, cancers have developed in several people with inherited immune diseases who received ex vivo gene therapies, in which… cells were removed, given a therapeutic gene… then returned to the body.” Details matter: scim.ag/49vonz8
So this author claims he's been subjected to years of "attacks" and "false accusations," and then picks *this paper* to show how ridiculous the concerns are. It doesn't matter that this is a 1998 paper, the problem is evident to anyone with eyes. pubpeer.com/publications... x.com/weldeiry/sta...
